About Monbulk Family Clinic
Monbulk Family Clinic was formed in 1999 by John Gruner being joined by Jeff Lindenmayer who had both been at Selby Family Clinic from 1995. In 2005 we were selected as a training practice and have since attracted doctors, nurses, paramedicals and specialists. In 2011 we linked with Selby and Kallista Medical Center so that all three separate clinics may view each others records and appointments to give patients more options.
Our focus is on being proud of our vocation and trying to set an example in patient care to the students and post graduate doctors we are privileged to be involved with.
We hope to be around at least another 20 years and avoid the corporate model.

Our current charges are displayed at reception. These fees may vary between the doctors as doctors are at liberty to charge their own fees.
Bulk Billing: see front page re changes at time of Covid pandemic
Procedures: A fee between $75-180 out of pocket applies for use of the treatment room for procedures such as removal of foreign body, skin lesions, IUD, suturing etc. This gap is on the lesser scale for pensioners and dependent on the procedure so please ensure you discuss with your doctor before the procedure. This fee is to cover the costs of equipment, sutures , dressing , sterilizing and doctor and nurse's time.

Appointments
Emergencies: will always be given priority. If you have chest pain, shortness of breath, or anything you think may be urgent please tell our receptionists so they can transfer your call to the nurse or doctor. Long Appointments: If you need several matters dealt with or have a complex issue please book a double appointment as our usual 15 minute time may not be enough. Home Visits: Yes; home visits are available by arrangement to regular patients within a 5 km radius of Monbulk, whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. After Hours Advice: Yes we offer after hours advice for regular patients of our clinic by phoning the clinic phone number where an answering machine will give instructions. This service is not bulk billed. SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING FIRE RISK MONTHS
We will be closed on CODE RED days with possibly reduced services on EXTREME days . (NOTE: This does NOT mean total fire ban days). A message will be on our answering machine and the usual on call arrangements will apply. We will notify patients with appointments on the day before such days. |
