St Vincents Pathology provides a wide range of testing onsite Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, no appointment necessary. Through Medicare subsidies most tests requested by your doctor are free of charge.
If you GP requires you to have a test collection taken they will provide you with a pathology form, outlining the test details and any testing requirements. You will need to provide this form and your Medicare card to the pathology collection nurse at the time of your test.
Results are usually available 2-3 days after collection for most standard tests, some more complex testing may take longer. If your GP needs to discuss any of the results with you our friendly reception team will contact you to arrange an appointment. However, it is highly recommended that you make a follow up appointment within a few days of your test to discuss any results. This way we can ensure a consistently high level of care.
